We hope to start alt. cinema screenings again, but currently have a shortage of volunteers.
alt. cinema – a monthly film screening for discerning cinema lovers! Building on the success of the Café Cinema at St Paul’s we are trying to broaden our appeal with an alternative programme that moves away from the mainstream. We’ve created an exciting schedule of contemporary and classic films to challenge and provoke discussion. We want to celebrate the wealth of great film-making and bring you films that fall outside of the mainstream to surprise and stimulate. alt. cinema intends to bring together film enthusiasts and give you an opportunity to stick around post-screening and enjoy the informal atmosphere. Refreshments will be available but, as with Café Cinema, you are welcome to BYO.
Admission is a suggested donation of £5.00
Film goers are welcome to borrow up to 2 blu-ray DVDs per month at £2 each. As with Café Cinema and Yelverton Children’s Cinema, alt. cinema is run entirely by volunteers and all monies raised go to charity. We do hope that you will come and join us at alt. cinema.
